Dornish Wine Pears – House of the Dragon Recipe
House of the Dragon’s premier didn’t disappoint. We made Dornish Wine Pears with lots of cinnamon, and rock game hens. Like the pilot, it was delicious and satisfying.

Ingredients
- 1 can of pears in light syrup ( Do not drain)
- 2 cups of dark red sweet wine. ( We used Apothic's Dark wine )
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3 large cinnamon sticks
- 3 -4 drops of lemon juice
Instructions
- In a double boiler, add wine, sugar and cinnamon and bring to a simmer. Stir continually.
- Immediately add pears and pear juice with cinnamon sticks, and simmer for 5 mins
- Add lemon juice and gently swirl.
- Serve hot.
Obviously, this dish is alcoholic, and the cooking process will not burn off all the alcohol..
