Ingredients
- 1 package of crescent dough ( very cold )
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1/4 tsp minced garlic
- Optional
- 2 egg whites
- string cheese in thin strips
- parmesan cheese
- marinara sauce
Instructions

- Lay out the dough in flat sheets
- Slice dough sheets into 3 inch strips
- Spiral the top of the claw to about 3/4 down. Pull the dough gently to elongate it.
- Cut the remaining dough into small fringe stips. Braid the fringe stips and push up into claw shapes, or pull to create longer "fingers"
- Add garlic to the melted butter and brush the claws well OR brush with egg whites
- Bake for 5 - 7 minutes, checking often. Remove when they are lightly brown
- Serve with marinara sauce for dipping
Notes
This is a quick and easy recipe we have made countless variations on. Stuff string cheese stips in the dough before braiding, brush parmesan on the garlic butter sauce, or use a plain butter melt and sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar. If you like a sweeter option, dip in raspberry jam instead of marinara sauce.
