Scary Spider Snacks – Eight Legged Freaks
This movie is hilarious and yet still manages to be gross and creepy. We made Scary Spider Snacks to devour during this movie and quite a few other spider movies too.
The original title of this film was Arach Attack and features a 16 year old Scarlett Johansson. It’s a must watch for us every Halloween, or anytime we want watch a creature feature.

Ingredients
- Ritz crackers
- 8 oz Cream cheese
- 8 oz (2 cups) Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- Worcestershire sauce
- Blue Cheese crumbles
- Pretzel sticks (thin)
- Raisins or dried Cranberries
- Nutella or Peanut butter (optional to cheese filling)
Instructions
- To make the spider filling
- Combine the cheeses in a large bowl and knead.
- Add the Worcestershire sauce and knead again.
- To assemble the spiders
- Break the pretzel sticks into small pieces
- Place a layer of the cheese mixture on a cracker and cover with another cracker
- Add eight pretzel pieces to each cracker sandwich by inserting them between the crackers
- Add eyes by placing two raisins or cranberries on top of a drop of the cheese mixture on the top of the cracker.
- Optionally, you can fill the spiders with Nutella. We suggest using very cold Nutella or peanut butter
Notes
To make these a little less refined for kids, add peanut butter, Nutella, or a cashew spread. One year for a Halloween party, we made these with pate in the middle and people seemed to love it. ( I was a little put off by the textures.)
The spider "meat" is important. Don't overload the middle or the crackers crumble and it makes a crumby mess.
