• WHO WE ARE
  • Welcome To Movies Make the Meal

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Movies Make the Meal. We are absolutely thrilled that you’ve stopped by and we hope you find some useful recipes and movies to watch.

I am Jen, a former film student and a movie aficionado, series freak. writer and podcast host,  who loves to share her passion for story through media with the world. I am often joined in the kitchen by my adult children, and some close friends. Our love of creating theme nights, evolved into this site, and it is my honor to share it with you.

I’m not a professional cook, or artist (sorry if that shows!) but I do enjoy cooking and experimenting with flavors. To be be fair, my strength is in the movie to food idea implementation, and in spinning classic dishes with some movie or tv show flare.

    Enjoy!

    Jen, your Cinema Chef

  • WHAT WE DO
  • We’re Always Changing to Stay Current!

Out theme night, recipes and movies are often taken from past media, but we do our fair share of current movies and shows on now. A lot of my inspiration comes from the podcasts I participate on. Cinema du Fromage, The Spotlight and several others are  often featured content creation for this site.

To that end, if you are interested in a show, please let us know and we’ll do our best to cover it.

  • COOKING
  • People often ask, “What kind of food do you like cooking best?” The answer is, any food I feel inspired to make. Having said that, I love Italian / American food the most ( not a great match for someone on a low carb diet!), but I also enjoy making menus that can be reimagined in a lower carb range.

Additionally, genre wise, I am a horror lover. So you’ll find a lot of that here.

We are ramping up our content on this site, so stay tuned as we get more recipes and ideas for your next movie night on our air.

    Movies, Meals & More

    A LITTLE MORE

We aren't professional chefs. We have fun in the kitchen, make more messes than masterpieces, and always strive to bring humor to our recipes and cooking times. These ideas are not meant to illustrate the height of sophistication, but we strive to give everyone who loves movies, something to watch and eat and hopefully have fun.

We love hearing about new ideas, new recipes and success stories. Share them with us! We'd love to hear from you.

We shop everywhere we can find a good deal. Shopping local ( because we are on an island ) is really important to us, but we are alway scanning weekly ads for key and staple items. Having said that, we love Target!

Our single biggest suggestion to you, is measure. We have found over time, that the term “season to taste“ is rarely successful unless you start with the proper measurements first!

A quick word on presenting food. Invest in some serving platters, some interesting dishware, and unique centerpieces. They go a long way in your food presentation game!
