We hadn’t planned on making anything for Movies Make the Meal on the 4th of July, but when the movie The Patriot came on, I grabbed the berries and whipped cream and fashioned a little flag. Our guests loved it and while it could have been a little “nicer” in presentation, it was functional and they devoured it fast.

I think Gabriel’s flag needed some TLC too…

Ingredients

• Blueberries
• Strawberries
• Whipped Cream
• *Optional - Raspberries

Instructions

1. Place blueberries in one corner of your dish.
2. Add strawberries and raspberries
3. Stripe whipped cream to make the outline of the flag. (around the blueberries and then over the strawberries in straight lines.

Notes

We threw this together pretty quickly on the 4th of July, but it's a great dessert with little sugar and it was fun to make. (The stripes should have been straighter but it was hot and everything was melting fast!)
 
We watched The Patriot, but hey, any movie with a flag in it would work.
