Goulash for Ghoulies
I know this isn’t a new recipe and there are many Ghoulie goulash recipes, but I love this dish and Ghoulies is such a fun movie … it just seemed to work. Most of the recipes I see for American goulash are bland and for kid pallets(?) Summon some of this and tell us what you think!

Ingredients
- Box of Elbow Macoroni
- 1 large can Tomato Sauce (Not spaghettis sauce)
- 1 can tomato paste
- 1 diced green bell pepper
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1 lbs ground beef
- 2 tbls Basil
- 3 tbls Paprika ( sweet or smoky)
- 1 tbl thyme
- 1/4 stick butter
- 3 tbls crushed red pepper
Instructions
- Cook and drain macaroni noodles. Set aside.
- Crumble and brown the ground beef. Drain and then add butter. Add crushed red pepper, onion, green pepper. Mix and cook for 2 mins. Set aside
- In a large sauce pan add tomato paste and 1/2 cup of water. Stir well and simmer.
- Add tomato sauce to the paste to the mixture and simmer.
- Add beef mixture to the tomato mixture and stir well.
- Add the elbow macaroni and heat on very low heat for 1 hour
I have had this dish baked, but somehow, it gets too dry in the oven. The Paprika makes everything taste warm and the crushed red pepper in the meat gives it a little zing.
