Ingredients
- 5 chicken tenderloins (thawed if frozen)
- 1 cup Tahini
- 4 tablespoons raw honey
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup sesame oil
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 cup Panko (We used Kara-age, a Japanese fried chicken coating but it's not for everyone. Kids might like the less spicy flavor of plain panko.)
- ***************************
- Side Sauce
- 3/4 cup of mayo
- 4 tablespoons raw honey
- 3 tablespoons of sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup honey mustard
Instructions
- Whisk all the sauce ingredients together and pour into ramekins.
- Whisk tahini, honey together in a large shallow dish
- Spread panko on a flat dish and mix in sesame seeds
- Cut chicken into small, bite sized pieces and dip into the tahini mixture, then coat with panko
- On medium-low heat, pour olive oil and sesame oil into the deep frying pan and gentle stir
- Add coated chicken to the pan in small batches until the chicken is no longer pink inside. Be patient, the lower heat is needed to keep the sesame oil from burning so the chicken will take longer to cook.
- Remove chicken and place on a paper towel to drain.
- Serve with rice, mandarin oranges and your sauce for dipping.
Notes
This is an easy recipe for kids, or you can spice it up with black sesame seeds and Kara-age. Honey mellows out the sauce and the chicken coating.
