Shrek’s Everyone Loves a Good Parfait
Typically a parfait is served in tall dessert cup and layered neatly. Much like Shrek and Donkey, we made this recipe to be messy, unorganized, sweet and filled with layers.
It’s a delicious simple recipe and pairs nicely with weed rat stew.

Ingredients
- 2 quarts of fresh strawberries, cleaned washed and tops removed
- 2 cups of blueberries, cleaned and stems removed
- 2 cups of fresh whipped cream or 1 package Cool Whip
- 1 pound of pound cake (usually 1 loaf)
Instructions
- Layer the ingredients in a very large serving dish and serve optionally with a caramel drizzle.
Notes
This recipe can be made with ice cream instead of whipped cream / Cool Whip but we found that the ice cream overwhelmed the flavors of the fruit.
A note on the pound cake: Cut the slices when the cake is VERY cold.
