- 6 yams or sweet potatoes peeled and then sliced into 1/2-inch thick rounds
- 1 Tbls cornstarch
- 1 stick of butter, sliced in 1/2 inch cubes

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400.
- Cook sliced yams in a large sauce pan for about 30 mins, drain.
- Add butter to the drained sweet potatoes and set aside.
- Combine cornstarch, honey, water and salt in a medium saucepan and cook on medium-low heat until clear. (Not milky) Stir the mixture continually and do not leave it. It will burn quickly.
- Pour the mixture over cooked, drained yams or sweet potatoes and bake at 400°F until tender and edges begin to brown. Usually about 45 mins to an hour.
- Sprinkle with nutmeg or cinnamon (optional) and drizzle with some fresh honey to taste.
Notes
This dish a sweet side that is buttery and flavorful. It should be served with a main entrée that's savory. We think the Candyman would approve of this kind of sweets for the sweet.
